Gulu university in Nothern Uganda is set to start testing 70 Covid-19 herbs. The Laboratory analysis and testing of at least 70 potential Covid-19 remedies at Gulu university faculty of Biotechnology and Traditional centre for Excellence is scheduled to start next month.
The rampant increase in the daily corona virus related cases in the country has put the health sector at stake, culminating into need to improvise survival.
The involvement of the Acholi based institution comes after a sister instituition; Mbarara University is battling for approval of the alleged Covid-19 cure- COVIDEX. The product was considered an excellent potential herbal medicine and the producers were advised to go ahead and follow the normal procedures of approval according to the procedures on drug development and production in Uganda.
Todate, the country has registered 63,099 Cases with 434 Death Cases.
