Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, through a letter, has announced adjustment in the calendar for the 74th Graduation ceremony.
The ceremony will now take place between 29th January, 2024 and 2nd February, 2024.
This was confirmed through a letter to the Academic Registrar Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi dated 15th December, 2023.
“I refer to the above subject matter as well as concerns raised by various Colleges and other stakeholders of the University on the above captioned subject, specifically regarding our readiness to hold a successful graduation ceremony on the dates gazetted by the University Senate (22-26 January, 2024), After consultation with key stakeholders, as Chairperson of Senate, I am rescheduling the 74 Graduation Ceremony to commence on Monday 29 January 2024 and end on 2 February 2024. Please make the necessary arrangements accordingly,” the letter reads in part.
However, the letter did not indicate the exact reason for the postponement.
It should be noted that this will be the second adjustment to the gradation dates owing to the fact that the initial communication stated 8 January 2024 – 12 January 2024 as grad week.
