It was a fun-filled Tuesday evening at the Cooper Chimney Restaurant Lugogo Arena as hellofood launched the first ever Restaurant Awards in Kampala. The Kampala Restaurant Awards (KRA) aims at honoring restaurants, cafes and bars that are committed to deliver exceptional service, quality foods, value for money among others.
Speaking during the event, hellofood head of communications Neville Igasira said KRA is the first of its kind in Uganda.
“These awards provide a platform for excellence and recognition for the best restaurants in their own category. Through them, the restaurant industry in Uganda can also be represented,” he said.
Also making his remarks during the event, the company Managing Director Ron Kawamara said,
“Restaurants are increasing on a daily basis. The industry contributes much to the Ugandan economy. It is about time we celebrate excellence and reward those who do well. Through KRA, we will keep on encouraging good standards in the restaurant and hotel industry.”
Brussels Airlines as one of the partners announced the winners will get tickets to go to Brussels. The airline is also offering different prizes.
The award ceremony is scheduled 25th November 2015 at Kampala Serena Hotel. Among different categories to be voted for is Best Ugandan Cuisine Award, Best Indian Cuisine, Best Asian Cuisine, Best value for money award, restaurant of the year, among others.
KRA is organized in partnership with online services portal company Done Deal, MTN, Pepsi, Brussels Airlines, Shell Gas, Sanyu FM, and Robertson Winery.
