Makerere University has reopened for applications to undergraduate programmes under private sponsorship.
The Academic Registrar has invited applications from Ugandan, East African, and international applicants for the under the private sponsorship scheme for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
Attached is the list of all re-advertised courses available at Makerere and all its campuses;
Each applicant should:
- Have the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes, or its equivalent and at least two principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting.
- For day programmes only candidates who sat A’ Level in 2022 and 2020 are eligible to apply.
- For evening, afternoon, and external programmes, a candidate is not restricted on the year of sitting A’ Level. Detailed information on the weighting system can be accessed by following this link.

b) Diploma from a recognised/Chartered Institution
OR
c) Mature Age Certificate 2022/ or 2021
OR
d) Degree from a recognised/Chartered Institution

Applicants should submit their application the Institution’s Admissions URL https://apply.mak.ac.ug/
Obtain a payment advice slip with a Payment Reference Number by clicking on ‘Pay for Form’ button and make a payment at any of the Banks used by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
The closing date for receiving applications for undergraduate admissions is Friday 4th August 2023.
