Yesterday as the rest of the world celebrated World Contraception Day, students at Makerere where also doing the same with Reach A Hand Uganda [RAHU] at Mitchell Hall of residence.
There were focus group discussions for the different sexes where experts talked and advised students on best practices of using the different contraception methods.
There was also a joint discussion after the focus group discussions where Harriet from the university hospital advised students not to go around licking Sexually Transmitted Diseases [STDS] and other diseases, she also advised students to avoid masturbation of any kind as she encouraged them to visit the University Hospital in case of any troubles regarding their sexuality.
The Chairman and Health Minister of Mitchel hall also addressed students available and advised them to engage in safe sex which he regarded as “emilimu gya Mitchell” which translates to “the job of Mitchell.”
Agents from RAHU then gave students condoms and advised them to have safe sex with condoms as they provide dual protection from STDS and unwanted pregnancies.
