The Makerere University 86th Students’ Guild Leadership, through the Guild Ministry of Security will hold a security awareness day today, Monday, 30th August. This day will be held online and it will be commemorated under the theme. ‘Personal and Collective Security amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic’.
The event will be hosted by the Guild Minister for Security, Hon. Kato Laban and it will be moderated by Mr. Ntamugambumwe Victor and Hon. Angel Kampi, the Guild Deputy Prime Minister.
The event will notably, be graced by the presence of a number of distinguished personnel from the national security and defence dockets. Among these personnel is the Political Commissar of the Uganda Police Force, AIGP Asan Kasingye, the Spokesperson of the UPDF, Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso and the Uganda Police Force’s Director for Crime Intelligence, AIGP Chris Damulira.
On the other hand, the University Management will be represented by Mr. Katongole Juma, a cyber-security specialist and Makerere University’s Data Administrator and Mr. Arthur Moses Opio, a cyber-security specialist and the End-user Administrator at Makerere University’s Directorate of Information & Communication Technology Support (DICTS).
