Following the approval by the Education and Health authorities to have Medical students back to their respective learning centers starting today Friday 13th, Makerere University administration has guided its concerned parties to blend in the arrangement as instructed by the Dean of students.
The Dean of Students communicated as follows:
- Reference made to communication by the Academic Registrar dated 10th August, 2021 in which he has guided on return of students on Medical and Health Science programmes.
- Reporting will commence with the Clinical students of Year 3, 4 & 5 on the following programs:
i) Medicine (MBChB)
ii) Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiology (BSMR)
iii) Bachelor of Speech & Language Therapy (SL T)
iv) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
v) Pharmacy
vi) Dental Surgery
vii) Dental Technology
viii) Optometry - Galloway House, Africa and Livingstone Halls will re-open on 14th August 2021 for the above mentioned students.
- The rest of the students in non-clinical years will resume through virtual lectures.
- Wardens should ensure t hat room allocation to resident students is done in-line with adherence to Covid-19 Standard Operating procedures.
- As students return, everybody, whether in Halls or Hostels, is strongly urged to strictly follow the SOPs for prevention of the spread of Covid-19.
