The disciplinary committee of University Football League (UFL) has fined Makerere University football team over chaos which resulted into the premature end of the match against YMCA.
According to UFL committee, the match was halted and not completed due to fans’ interruptions after YMCA had scored their second goal to lead 2-1.
After thorough investigations into the matter, UFL disciplinary has agreed the following;
- Makerere losses match to YMCA by forfeiture (3-0), YMCA goals to stand.
- Makerere deducted 6 points and 6 goals
- Makerere fined UGX 1 million

In a special way, Makerere University has been given a chance to appeal against the ruling of the disciplinary committee within 48 hours.

‘’How does a team score with its fans crossing past the opponent’s goalkeeper, weren’t YMCA fans rowdy? This is very unfair. This decision should be reversed or else they cancel the league, we are not happy, ‘’one of the Makerere University students criticized.
Makerere University had topped its group after winning all its first two matches against Mbarara University and St Lawrence University.
It should be remembered that Makerere University football has not been featuring in the last two editions of UFL over a ban regarding similar issues.
