As the Education Sector struggles to rekindle normalcy, Universities and other tertiary institutions are at an advantage of soon reopening since most of their key stake holders qualify for vaccination; a requisite for physical studies. The Ministries of Health and Education have for a spell advised the concerned parties to acquire vaccination against the COVID-19 virus.
Makerere University Hospital is now vaccinating students who are 18 years and above. Students that are far from the University Hospital are encouraged to visit the nearest COVID-19 Vaccination centers for the same.
“Following guidelines concerning vaccination of students released by Ministry of Health dated 17/09/2021, Makerere University Hospital is now vaccinating students who are 18 years and above,” the Hospital communicated.
“The Vaccination process will run Monday to Friday from 09 00 to 14 00 hours at the University Hospital,” the communique adds.
Last week the Ministry of Education and Sports advised in a letter that all students above 18 years of age should be priotised and vaccinated as a precondition to going back to school.
With the Presidential address slated for today, more light and direction will be dawned on the issue as the tension hypes.
