The Right Honourable speaker of parliament Rebecca A Kadaga yesterday saw off over 100 youth sent to work in Abu Dhabi by Middle East Consultants Limited (MECL) located in Muyenga.
The 102 youth were sent to Abu Dhabi to work as cleaners, taxi drivers and security guards. The speaker thanked Middle East consultants Limited for being a genuine employment agency that does not take out Ugandans to suffer but rather gives them hope and an opportunity to have a brighter future.
The ceremony that was held at the head office of MECL in Muyenga, Kampala was well attended as the parents of the youth were also present. The parents were cautioned not to misuse their children’s hard earned money they send back home but rather advised to put it to good use to uplift their families.
The Managing Director of MECL, Gordon Mugyenyi also thanked the Speaker for the continuous support and trust from the government, in addition to that he also cautioned the youth not to be indisciplined but should instead be focused and work hard.
In her final remarks, the speaker Rebecca Kadaga asked the youth to register themselves with the Ugandan mission in Abu Dhabi for security and follow up purposes.
