The search for MUBS’ beauty queen and the face of the Nakawa based university has been revived. The Pageant that had been ignored for a while will be back up and running.
The Miss MUBS beauty pageant has existed since 2005 and the finalists hold the University’s flag of representation in the Miss University beauty pageant.
According to the organizers, the event is intended to nurture and develop a lady whose story will be Inspiring to the world because of her experience.
“Miss MUBS beauty pageant is an event targeting university students, with an
intention of creating a platform that can be used to not only educate them on the aspects of entrepreneurship, charity, women empowerment but also uplift one’s status quo and confidence with the purpose of crafting a lady with a personal brand that can inspire others’, noted Edvine Kaburara the pageant’s coordinator.
“We are a committee of university students passionate about the beauty industry and In conjunction with Miss University Uganda.
Themed “Beauty Meets Intelligence”, The event features a number of activities before the finals where the Miss MUBS shall be recognized.
The pageant is open to 1st year and 2nd year students and the requisition is one’s Confident character Innovative mindset and a Self aware. This stage will involve registrations, Auditions where the participants shall be selected out.
The second round shall then be on the 5th September to 2nd October The ladies at this stage shall be groomed with the intention of building their personal brand and on how to truly act like queen. It will also base on the their knowledge on Entrepreneurship, Presentation and general knowledge and It’s intended to expose the ladies, to scenarios that numerous young people face today, with an intention of finding out how they would inventively go about them.
The Finals then shall be on 8th October and finalists shall be required to make a presentation on current global case studies about women empowerment and women emancipation. The round is intended to test and give the ladies a global perspective and act as versatile Ambassadors of sustainable change.
The finals will be the climax of the entire event with the winners and runners-up being recognized with prizes. The winner shall also be shortlisted for the Miss University pageant.
