As was communicated, the Hostel Silent Disco Gamers Edition was unlike any other. This time, there was a FIFA 19 competition that pitied several gamers with each other to eventually establish the undisputed champion from Nakawa based Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
After a night of gaming, listening to nice jams from the best DJs in town and drinking Bell Lager, a champion from the gamers tent had to be rewarded.
First-year student, Bob Grace Okello, who is pursuing a Bachelor of science in marketing was the eventual winner of the tournament at MUBS and was awarded shs 500,000 cash by Campus Bee editor Patricia Najjita.
“Bob, who has barely finished a year at the institution is 500K richer thanks to his gaming ability and this is what this edition is about – rewarding gaming talent amidst the fun of music and beer” Mark Guma, one of the organisers told our reporter.
“I did not expect to win this competition because the other players I was versing were really good at gaming,” Bobb said. He added that winning was the highlight of his night and he largely relied on his previous gaming experience. When asked what he would use the 500k cash prize for, Bob revealed that he was to share some of it with the friends that supported him greatly that night and that he would also buy himself something in what was left.
Bob, beat off competition from over 50 competitors in a knock out session until he eventually came out as the winner. Registration for the games was online and free of charge – all the gamers needed
