Makerere University Business School’s (MUBS) will hold its 18th Graduation Ceremony this Friday at the main campus in Nakawa.
Ahead of the event, MUBS has publicized a list of outstanding performers and one of them is Kazungu Aluko James, an inmate at Luzira Prison.
Kazungu achieved a perfect CGPA of 5.0 in his Diploma in Entrepreneurship Studies, emerging as one of the top performers.
He will be among 11 Luzira Prison inmates set to receive their diplomas during the May 23rd ceremony at the MUBS Ceremonial Grounds.
“This is proof that no limit can stop a determined mind,” said a MUBS representative regarding Kazungu’s accomplishment.
The list of top performers also includes another perfect scorer, Fatihia Abas, who achieved a 5.0 CGPA in her Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) from the Arua campus.

Other outstanding graduates include Watuwa Christine from Jinja campus with an impressive 4.97 CGPA in Business Administration, Tayebwa Muzafari from Mbarara with 4.89, and Karungi Asumputa and Lema Harbert, both with 4.86 in Diploma in Accounting and Finance (DAF) and Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) respectively.
The graduation ceremony, scheduled to run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, will celebrate students from various programs including Postgraduate Diplomas in Business and Public Administration, Ordinary Diplomas in fields ranging from Business Administration to Procurement and Logistics Management, and Certificate Programs.
The success of the Luzira inmates highlights the 14-year partnership between Uganda Prisons and MUBS Entrepreneurship Centre, which has been providing free education to inmates, transforming lives through education and skills development.
