Campus Bee has learned that the Olympia Hostel Custodian and Management have been dragged to Police by students and given an ultimatum to release property belonging to the complainants.
A section of residents of the Kikoni based posh hostel have come out to complain about the hostel management in as far as their personal property is concerned.
The hostel asked all its residents to evacuate their property from the hostel before the 30th of September in a move to “renovate” the hostel.
However, a number of residents who had lost their property within the time period from March when schools were closed lodged complaints to the hostel management about their losses.
Some of the property lost, according to the disgruntled students, ranges from TVs, sound systems (speakers) to even garments and household items.
The students say they have since gone ahead to call the custodian who informed them that some property had been retrieved and kept in the store.
On asking if they could check, the custodian implied that the keys to the store were with the manager who’s unreachable.
After playing cat and mouse chase with the management, they finally decided to involve the police and an ultimatum of 10 days was given to the hostel to act accordingly.
Such larcenous acts are not new at this hostel as our investigations found out that two of their custodians have previously been sacked by the hostel management after being found guilty of the same.
