Kyambogo University Guild President Mbaziira is still in pursuit for the success of #FixEducationInUganda campaign. The Banda based scholars are demanding for several solutions regarding restoration of the Education sector that has been affected by the pandemic as previously reported here.
In an interview with a local media house, the Kyambogo students’ leader expressed dismay towards continued neglect of the education sector from the government which, according to him, deserves long term solutions like vaccinating learners and their tutors.
“Our education is bigger than the 100k. The effort put in by our parents and guardians in paying our dues are bigger than the 100k relief fund from the government,” he noted.
“We should be university leaders of purpose. I’m disappointed in university leaders lowering the debate by asking posho, beans and 100k from Prime Minister Nabbanja instead of looking for the along lasting solution to fix the problem. Where by we can advocate for the vaccination of all our students and lectures so dat studies resume,” furious Mbaziira added.
University student leaders have for years been instrumental in influencing certain education policies and the Kyambogo comrade seems to be following a similar path.
