On Saturday 26th October 2019, Mbarara University of Science and Technology held a colorful celebration of its 26th Graduation Congregation at the university’s Kihumuro Main Campus grounds in Mbarara. The function also served as a commemoration of the university’s 30 year anniversary.
A total of 1,031 graduands (including 11 PhDs studnets) were awarded degrees and diplomas at a ceremony presided over by the university Chancellor Prof. Charles Olweny together with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Celestino Obua.
The Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni, was represented by Dr Chrysostom Muyingo, The State Minister for Higher Education who delivered her speech in which she emphasized the need for universities to strictly adhere to quality in order for the importance to be felt.
The best performing graduands per course were also specially recognized by the University’s Convocation.
