In a bid to put to public attention the need to invest in teenage girls, Reach A Hand Uganda [RAHU] commemorated World Population day under the tag phrase ‘let girls be girls‘ and the theme, “harnessing Uganda’s demographic dividend: Invest in teenage girls.”
RAHU spread the message about letting girls be girls by encouraging parents and guardians to stand against teenage pregnancy and under-age marriage. Furthermore, young girls were encouraged to stay in school so that they can harness their full potential and chase their dreams.
To spread the message, RAHU in conjunction with her peer educators and other passionate youths staged 3 flash mobs, at Kubiri and Kalerwe roundabouts, as well as Kawempe town, that caught the attention of many youths, parents and well-wishers.
