On Friday, Uganda Christian University (UCU) held its 24th graduation ceremony where over a thousand walked away with different awards at Bachelor, Master, PhD and other levels.
From the thousands that graduated, is a one Jonathan Bahizi who just experienced a moment of his life during his graduation (grad) party yesterday.
A heartwarming celebration turned into an overwhelming display of generosity as the graduate was left astonished when one of the guests initiated a fundraiser in which a staggering Shs.190 million was accumulated.
Campus Bee has learned that Mr Bahizi received the whooping sum from the fundraiser which was led by Mr. Godfrey Kirumira, a renowned businessman.
The fundraiser, aimed to serve as ‘head start’ for the fresh graduate left many talking because its unusual for a graduate, fresh out of campus to land such a blessing, for an exception of ‘planned kids’, a term used by netizens to refer to children presumed to be from financially advantaged families.
Bahizi graduated yesterday with a Bachelor’s Degree of Law.
This and many more graduation fundraisings which many graduates don’t usually get, show the impact a collective effort can have on someone’s life.
With a fresh start and a substantial financial boost, there is no doubt that Bahizi is poised to accomplish great things going forward.
