Today, we grieved students of the Mighty Kyambogo University held a peaceful strike, why?
Because the results of last semester have not yet been released. We are already doing tests and preparing for the end of sem examinations of which the timetable is already out. So we were simply demanding for the release of our last semester results at least before Easter holidays kick in. We can not keep studying blindly not knowing how we performed last semester.
Another reason is, Identification Cards for students which they pay for at the beginning of their course and are supposed to be issued when students after a given period of time have not been worked on. We have waited for ages.
Also, internship money of which we pay shs200,000 which we pay together with tuition hasn’t been availed to the second year students. The most peeving thing is students are only given transport for instance if you are going to Nakawa as your place of internship, you are only given 500 (out of 200,000), Can you imagine?
And then allowances for gov’t students. These students are entitled to this money at the start of every semester, but you know what, these monies have not been availed to most students…..really, what should we, students do to this sort of administration?
