Kafunda Kreative today announced a strategic partnership with Shell Fuels and Lubricants to work together over the course of this year in the #KoiKoiUg adventure series. The partnership, under the KokoiUg initiative will entail several trips where content is generated and shared and seeks to deliver a different experience for most Ugandans regarding the notion of boosting domestic tourism. It will also seek to promote the utility of Shell’s Fuels, lubricants and convenience retailing.
The #KoiKoiUg initiative is a road trip experience that seeks to tell more authentic Ugandan stories by highlighting affordable, more off-the-path local adventures that can be experienced. By experiencing and documenting Ugandan sights and sounds the campaign shows more of Uganda which ultimately works to challenge stereotypes and uplift local and international tourism.
“We are totally excited by the partnership because it validates our concept that the more Ugandans we have visiting Uganda the more authentic the Ugandan story is. I’m even more blown away that this was a coffee shop dream. But more important than that is the commitment it has shown for Uganda, its stories and its people. This support will enable us show the world that Uganda is still The Pearl of Africa.” – David Ogutu, Team Leader, Kafunda Kreative.
The partnership will see #KoikoiUg and Shell Fuels and Lubricants take on 4 expeditions in the 2016 #KoiKoiUg calendar themed; The Land of the East, The Great Unexplored North, South Into The Mountains and The Queen Elizabeth Adventure. Each of the trips is an exciting visual adventure of curating stories on culture, community, sights, sounds and food. The first is with the Shell V-Power Stay Ahead campaign to protect car engines against gunk and corrosion. These stories will be shared with the world via social media, blogs, news articles and on koikoiug.com
The first of these trips will be taking place from May 6-th to May 8th and it will consistent of exciting activities in Kapchorwa around the Sipi Falls area. The trip will also include community visits with the Sabiny community and guided tour around a coffee plantation and tasting ceremony.
