Two time Makerere University Guild Prime Minister Ian Ndamwesiga alias Ndam Genius has been sworn in as the new Guild Prime Minister for Uganda Christian University (UCU) Kampala Campus, Campus Bee has learnt.
Ndamwesiga, a former student of Civil Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) dropped out of Makerere after spending over 8 years without graduation and enrolled at UCU for a Bachelors degree in Law (LL.B).
In his over 8 year stint at Makerere University, Ndam served as the Speaker of Lumumba Hall, contested and lost a Guild Speakership race, became Spokesperson of the Makerere Guild Electoral Commission in 2016, represented Ugandan Youths as the EAC Ambassador, was appointed Prime Minister in the 83rd and 84th Guild Governments. Quite a profile, truly he is not a simple man.
Campus Bee has learned that while at Makerere, Ndam lost his government sponsorship for his Civil Engineering degree having joined the university as the best A-level student in 2012. Consequently, he enrolled for a degree in Social Sciences and later Community Psychology before leaving the university for good and enrolling at UCU Kampala Campus.
We have also learned that his law degree is being bankrolled by the Deputy Kampala Lord Mayor and Makerere LCV Woman Councillor Doreen Nyajura, who is Ndam’s very close friend.
“He is not called Ndam Genius for nothing. I know that boy. He is capable of anything. Even taking over the guild government as President after impeaching everyone in his way. He is very ambitious and a huge schemer.” A former Makererean who preferred anonymity told this reporter.
Ndam is currently in his second year at the Law School and riding on well. Campus Bee wishes him a fruitful term of office.
