Uganda Christian University (UCU) Vice Chancellor has released a lineup of guidelines to accompany activities at the institution as the Trinity semester resumes after the 42 nationwide lockdown. UCU’s Trinity Semester is held between May and August differing from the normal semester schedule of September to November.
At a meeting held on 2nd August 2021, UCU Management reviewed the President’s guidelines on easing COVID-19 restrictions, and provided guidance to UCU staff as follows:
Online learning programmes for this semester to continue as earlier scheduled.
Principals of Constituent Colleges, Deans of Faculties and Schools, Directors and Heads of Department, required to report back to Campuses in person and resume their semester schedules.
Heads of Units to draw a schedule for deployment of 30% of staff in person on rotational basis each week. Academic staff and all staff required for key activities in the units should be prioritized for end of semester activities.
Regional colleges to adapt to online learning and digitization processes already underway, including utilization of the Alpha Management Information System (Alpha MIS) in their operations.
