National Medical Stores ( NMS) through the Public Relations Officer, Sheila Nduhukire has elaborated on the delayed distribution of various medicines across the country.

“NMS would like to inform the General Public that delivery of one cycle of routine medicines to health facilities has been delayed. This is because NMS prioritized distribution of PPES, Covid Vaccines and Vaccines for children. However, deliveries of other medicines has now begun across the country,” the entity’s statement read.

National Medical Stores is mandated to Procure, Store and distribute essential medicines and medical supplies to all Public Health Facilities in the Country.
This mandate then grew to serve 100% of government health facilities including the police, army and prisons. In August 2012 the mandate was further expanded to distributing vaccines across the country.
