Kyambogo University has given fresh students admitted through the Direct Entry Scheme for the 2025/2026 academic year a heads up – they still have time to make changes to their programs or study schedules if needed.
In a notice released yesterday by the Academic Registrar’s office, students who want to switch things up have until Friday, August 22nd to submit their requests through the university’s online portal.
The process is pretty straightforward. Students need to log into their individual portals at myportal.kyu.ac.ug, click on the service request option, fill out the necessary details, and submit everything online.
After that, they’ll get a payment reference number to settle the fees at any bank.
Speaking of fees, it’s not exactly free to make these changes. Students looking to switch programs will need to pay 50,000 Ugandan shillings, while those just wanting to change their study time (maybe from day to evening classes) will pay 20,000 shillings.
The university is asking students to attach photocopies of several documents including their application forms, admission letters, O and A level certificates, and proof of payment once they’ve sorted out the fees.
Important to note is that students can only change to programs or study times that still have available spots, and they need to meet the entry requirements for whatever they’re switching to.
The deadline is firm at Friday, August 22nd, so students who’ve been having second thoughts about their choices should probably get moving on this sooner rather than later.
