Makerere University has issued a detailed memo outlining crucial information regarding fees payment for the academic year 2024/25.
Addressing both new and continuing students, the university bursar, Evarist Bainomugisha, emphasized the importance of adhering to the outlined procedures to ensure a smooth academic experience.
According to the memo, all first-year government sponsored students are required to enroll immediately on the ACIMS system and submit their personal bank accounts to their hall wardens.
This step is crucial for processing food and living allowances, and only enrolled students will receive payments.
Continuing students are required to pay at least UGX 200,000 by August 30, 2024 or face a surcharge of UGX 20,000 on late payments. Important to note is that free registration ends on October 18, 2024.
After that, late registration will incur a UGX 50,000 fee, while the deadline for fees payment is November 1, 2024. A 5% surcharge on the outstanding balance will be applied to payments made after this date.
