The Directorate for ICT Support (DICT) at Makerere University has rolled out an essential guide for students, particularly those concerned about paying tuition fees.
The notice informs students that they can now make partial payments or deposits towards their tuition through the university’s student portal.
The flexibility allows students to deposit amounts as low as UGX 50,000 or as high as UGX 1,000,000, among other options, depending on their financial situation.
The Payment Reference Number (PRN) generated through the portal is all that’s required to complete payments at the bank, through mobile money, or other payment agents.
DICT emphasizes that students should not hold onto their money if they don’t have the full amount. Instead, they should ensure the funds are deposited using the PRN.
This proactive measure allows students to gradually clear their tuition balances without financial strain as illustrated below;
