Makerere University has extended the application deadline for Direct Entry applicants seeking Private Sponsorship for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This, according to an official notice from the office of Ag. Academic Registrar Charles Ssentongo.
The notice confirmed that prospective students now have until May 27, 2025, to submit their applications. The deadline was previously set for May 20, 2025.
“Applicants who have already applied need not apply,” the notice emphasized, clarifying that previously submitted applications remain valid under the extended timeline.
The extension provides additional opportunity for prospective students who may have missed the initial deadline to join Uganda’s oldest and most prestigious university for undergraduate programs under the private sponsorship scheme.
Interested applicants are directed to refer to the university’s website (www.mak.ac.ug) for comprehensive information regarding announcements and requirements for the Direct Entry Scheme for undergraduate programs.
This extension comes amid the busy admission season for Ugandan universities as they prepare for the 2025/2026 academic year.
