News coming in from the Ankole based Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) indicates that first year students are facing hard time to access some of the university programs.
This has been caused by the delayed release of University Identity cards to first year students since they stepped into the University.
Through their representative to the students’ guild – Anyine Jonathan, first year students petitioned the office of the Academic registrar explaining the difficulties they are facing due to lack of Identity cards.
Anyine revealed that his fellow first year students are denied access to the university clinic, library and other areas since they cannot be identified as registered students. Majority of them were left out in the recently concluded guild elections.
Previously, first year students always received Identity cards immediately after registering as long as they had paid functional fees.
First year students at MUST reported on 5th January 2022 to start their higher education journey.
