Kampala International University (KIU) held its 27th graduation ceremony on June 17th graduating about 2530 students.
The 2530 graduates were from both KIU western campus and main campus where the former produced 1370 and 1160 graduates coming from main campus.
Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, the vice chancellor at KIU congratulated the graduates and urged them to protect the award they have obtained.
“Let me congratulate all our graduands for making it this far. You have sacrificed your all, and therefore, you have the duty to protect this award being obtained today,”he said.
Prof. Mpezamihigo advised the graduates to be generous and feel for others as it is the only way they can build strong bonds they can later rely on during the course of life.
“Wherever you go, be generous to others, forgiving is the best way to save. This may sound like a contradiction, but life requires that we feel for others and in that way, we build strong bonds that will become meaningful later in life,” he added.
Prof. Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha, chairperson KIU university Council thanked parents and sponsors of the graduates for the support and encouragement they have offered to them during their academic journey.
“We appreciate the unwavering support and encouragement you have provided to our Graduands in their academic path accomplishments. Your sacrifices, prayers, and belief in their potential have helped shape them into the responsible individuals they are today. We express our profound gratitude for standing by their side through the ups and downs of this incredible journey,” she said.
The ceremony was graced by minister for lands Hon. Judith Nabakooba, who stood in for vice president Jessica Alupo.
Nabakooka congratulated KIU for its outstanding contribution to higher education, stating that it has demonstrated that private higher education provision can work.
