Spokesperson of the National Unity Platform, Joel Besekezi Ssenyonyi has today bagged two enormous achievements; a graduation and a parliamentary swearing-in. Joel has been at law School for the past four years and today attained his Bachelors’ degree at the 71st Makerere University Graduation. Like most students, Ssenyonyi attended the ceremony virtually due to a limited number required physically in the freedom square.
“Today I’ve become a Lawyer after graduating from Makerere Law Sch. The 4 yrs were tough, having to juggle law school with many other aspects of my life, but God has been faithful. Later in the day I was sworn in as MP-Nakawa West. God help me to use these 2 platforms to fight injustice,” jovial Joel tweeted.
The rekown Ugandan journalist and politician, is the current member of parliament elect for the Nakawa West constituency that was officialy sworn in today into the 11th Parliament. Ssenyonyi was elected as the NUP parliamentary candidate for the Nakawa West seat in the January 2021 Ugandan general election. He won the seat after defeating the National Resistance Movement‘s Margret Zziwa Nantongo
