Makerere University has announced the fee structure for its upcoming 75th graduation ceremony.
This, according to the Office of the Academic Registrar’s memo, stating that students are required to cover fees for convocation, graduation, transcripts, certificates, and graduation gowns.
For Ugandan and East African students, the total fee stands at UGX 200,000, while international students are expected to pay USD 160.
These payments should be made directly to the Makerere University Endowment Fund at DFCU Bank, using account number 01083535320471.
The fee breakdown includes UGX 10,000 for convocation, UGX 40,000 for graduation, UGX 30,000 each for the certificate and transcript, and UGX 90,000 for the graduation gown. International students are required to pay USD 10, 60, 30, 30, and 30, respectively, for each of these items.
PhD graduands have an additional requirement, with a cylinder fee of UGX 50,000, totaling UGX 600,000 when the gown fee is included.
The Registrar has highlighted that payment of all fees is mandatory to clear graduands for participation in the ceremony.
