It was a new dawn as Uganda Christian University (UCU) held the second part of its 25th graduation ceremony at its main campus in Mukono.
Celebrating achievements of over 1,100 students, the event recognized top performers, including Christy Asiimwe, the top graduate with a 4.8 CGPA in Bachelor of Arts with Education, and the top male, Dismas Nuwaine, in Mass Communication with a 4.79 CGPA.
Among the graduates, 673 (57%) are female and 516 (43%) are male. Of these, 60 students achieved first-class honors, with 33 being female and 27 male.
Introducing new blue graduation gowns, UCU rebranded its ceremony to enhance the university’s identity and distinguish its graduates.
The university’s leadership, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, shared ongoing campus transformation projects, including the paving of Bishop Orombi Road and facility upgrades, all part of a seven-year vision to elevate UCU’s regional status.
Chancellor Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu encouraged graduates to remain humble and serve others, urging them to carry forward UCU’s values into their future.
The ceremony featured messages from high-profile speakers and also acknowledged three PhD recipients.
Congratulations to all!
