Kyambogo University is wrapping up the 3-day graduation ceremony today, December 9.
The 18th edition of graduation commenced this week on Wednesday 7th witnessing a total of 12,080 students attaining various academic awards.
The event’s underling theme was happiness amongst all graduands who made it out of the demanding academic journey.
This was evidenced in the sentimental dances, cheers and ululations that took the center stage as the university conferred degrees upon the successful scholars.
With all the bliss around Kyambogo University this week, no amount of ‘negative energy’ could undermine the graduands’ winning feeling.
Occasionally, graduands are reminded of the struggles post-studies but a section of this year’s graduates were not in the mood to taken in any piece of the common stereotype.
The joyous optimistic fellas were recorded reacting fearlessly to the question of “what next?” with a blunt response of “that will not stop us from celebrating.”
Our field reporter interacted with one of the graduands who acknowledged the need to think ahead but with hope, not worry.
“It is true that every finish line is the beginning of a new race but we’re not scared of life after campus. I am not the first nor the last to graduate. Many people have been through the struggle and if we believe, we can make it too,” a charismatic graduate lamented.
It is not only the graduates that are quite hopeful but the university administration too which stated, through the Vice Chancellor, that “Kyambogo University graduates continue to be the most preferred for employment in many sectors of our country.”
