The College of Engineering, Art and Design (CEDAT) is known for having ingenious students, and this doesn’t apply to academics but innovation as well.
The college recently held their annual 9th open day under the theme “Transforming lives through innovations and technology” on the 28th and 29th February, 2020 at the CEDAT quadrangle.
The guest of honor was the minister of state for youth and children affairs Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi who was impressed by the various displays of innovation and technology that the different students had come up with. The Hon. Minister plegded to continue supporting the youth and encouraged them to continue working hard.
Also in attendance was Lt. Tito, who works in the office of the president, the principal and deputy principal of the college, the dean of the school of engineering, the 85th guild minister for ICT, as well as students from within and outside the University.
The two day event came to an end on 29th February when 10 projects were selected to participate in front of a panel of judges and the overall winning project was ‘Kawallet’ which is a keyholder used to withdraw money, more like a mobile wallet.
