By first impression, Francis looks reserved and introverted but as soon as you start a conversation with him, the first minutes will prove to you that you are in a gripping colloquy with a genius, and by the end of the conversation, you will have learnt a lot from him.
Francis is a typical definition of someone who has overcome all odds through the turbulent Ugandan economy to make himself a youth’s dream.
After getting done with his high school studies from St. Mary’s School Kisubi, he went ahead and completed his education from the University of Kisubi in 2018 , with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, majoring in Biology and Chemistry. So how does a person with school knowledge of Biology and Chemistry come into teaching how to make robots? There is much about him that you haven’t heard yet.
Kusiimwa, a fluent English and German speaker, is a prolific writer with a number of books on his back plus more than 30 poems. One of his most trending books is leadership in the 21st Century.
He is also an accomplished businessman with a string of ice cream and popcorn machines in town. As if that’s not enough, Francis is also the man behind the KURA Business Consult, an online networking platform that brings together people of all professions to mentor each other and to grow in their respective professions. Through this, he has gained a big name in business consultancy and digital strategy.
That’s not all, this genius is currently advancing his career in programming with a core focus on python. Well, this is a programming language and we hope you are curious enough to know all about it. He is also designing robots and trains others how to make robots with Fundi Bots.
Francis is a great book reader and claims that he has acquired most of his advanced knowledge from books and the internet. “The internet is the new school. There are massive online courses in whatever field, there is YouTube, google, and podcasts. Anyone dying to acquire knowledge will get whatever their quest is from these platform.” He says.
Kusiimwa hopes to grow his consultancy and KURA into the biggest consultancy and networking platforms globally. His journey however, has not been smooth as anyone would think.
“I have faced many back flips and rusted hinges as a businessman, programmer and teacher. Just like all other youths, accessing credit is not easy and is still the biggest challenge.” says a joyous Francis. “Balancing my attention between my day job and my other life is also a challenge.”
