The semester is finally here and most people especially freshers are definitely excited about all this campus hype and can’t wait to rock the whole thing but you gotta hold your horn for a while, campus is not the haven you have been envisioning in the couch during all these vac weeks of redundancy. The ugly truth is campus is like a jungle, and the jungle law applies; “every man for himself.”
Campus is all about Competition. You either stand up, or stand out. Too bad most people chicken out and settle for mediocrity…or should I say too good for those guys out there who decide to step up. You don’t just get to hang with the cool guys or cute babes in class or nail that first class if you play mediocre. You have to stand out in every possible way…bring your own style to the game.
Dress nicely, be cool, keep it real (coz faking it is gonna stress you to the last nerve.) and above all burn your books. Dressing up is not all about having the most expensive clothes, (our lady friends you can testify) but it’s about how you put together your pieces. It’s as simple as just looking presentable. Just don’t look like a stale cake and boy please, be clean. If people can hang with you without feeling awkward, then your points will be high enough to step up a ladder of the social competition.
And the most important thing…read your books. Not just coz it’s the main reason you are at school, but it’s the secret to being cooler than the coolest dudes in class. Be a bwat and every single so called cool kid in class will look for you, and plus a whole lot of free meals will come around. That’s the ultimate code. And if you can couple that up with being styled up, then you just killed the competition.
Remember the secret is one; the more you hang with cool people, the more the people will want to hang with you. Meaning you no longer have to search for friends, they look for you.And another bonus is that, that boosts your self-esteem. So you don’t have to make life so hard for you trying to be up there. Just be you and let the dogs with the tails between their legs wonder how you manage to keep all the beautiful gals around you all the time.
