Driving a car at campus is a birthright for some people while other students do not dare even think about driving a car because of their miserable economic conditions.
While it is some people’s dreams to one day cruise a Range Rover Sport- others are even happy when they knocked by one- this Makerere dude is living his dream.
Today on the debut of our new weekly showbiz column dubbed Campus Rides, we unplugg, Peter Parks, the dude that leaves heads turning around campus as he cruises in his luxurious guzzler.
He is a first year business computing student at the biggest public university in Uganda and resides in the prestigious Olympia hostel.
How much he spends on fuel
Bruh, I spend close to shs60,000 to shs100,000 on fuel everyday driving to campus for lectures.
Is this really your ride?
Yeah of course…what type of question is that? I got this ride as my birthday gift from my uncle abroad.
I spend around shs300,000 on servicing it every month and I am not complaining.
Your dream car?
Uhhmm that would be a Rolls-Royce Wraith 2017 model.
Positives of having a ride at campus?
Having a car is much better, safer and cheaper than taking a pioneer bus or Taxi/boda that sometimes are congested, uncomfortable and on days of coldness, you suffer while on a boda.
Any negatives?
People who see me driving think I don’t go to school, they think driving a RangeRover is showing off, but actually it’s not. In fact, I live my life, I don’t care what they say….I am “stress free”.
