His love for Uganda is undying but his passion for Art is mind blowing, 22 year old Ssekitto Kalule Emmanuel a third year student of Industrial and Fine Art (BIFA) at Makerere University has started running a motivational Art campaign titled ‘Faces Up’.
In the Faces Up campaign, Emmanuel is looking to do 50 portrait art works for 50 influential people that are looked up to in Uganda. He plans to paint the celebrities, and the people that inspire others such as Djs, Doctors, TV presenters, Radio Presenters, musicians, entrepreneurs, sports men, students among others. His idea is to do portraits for those who are looked at as role models.
“The idea of making art work of influential people is that these people have the knowledge and experience they can share with the public to inspire and motivate” Kalule further stated. On the day of the exhibition, the 50 influential people shall be given their portraits.
The campaign is also inclusive of women especially female students as they have been welcomed “to come and share with us what their goals and dreams are so that we can see how to help each other to reach our individual potentials…” Customized jumpers in white and black as well as snap backs have also been made available at a fairly friendly price. Let’s all join the Faces Up campaign and celebrate the people that inspire us with Art.
