I sense thousands of raindrops on my head and would not want to feel them; I’m hopeful, the rain won’t fall until I reach! Oh yes, God did listen to my cries, no sooner had I reached my work place than the rain started.
Today, seems a lucky day for me. I might have missed out a chapter of my life, now here it goes:
Yesterday, my boss confronted me with a one on one telling me to be professional. The talk came in shortly after he interrupted my watching of Kat Deluna’s ‘Am I dreaming! Oh yes, I know it’s such an old song, the thing is it brings up a lot of high school memories. Those dance moves were so thorough!!
Story cut short, I was told never to do such unprofessional things during work time even if I didn’t have what to do. That one had to sink. Here is where the problem came in, my work outfit was not the required dress code. I had to stop putting on what I was wearing that day; a colorful top, blue tight pants and my new Bata Tomys. I emphasize those were new and were meant to be my favorite.
After such a long, hard day at work, feeling so disappointed and down, I decided to go out with a few friends for a round of drinks. So I rushed for the bar and cooled off with some self-relieving music and of course, the Amarula jazz!
Unluckily for me, my phone got shuttered in the rounds of screams that transpired at Kati Kati grounds with my bunch of friends.
So today, I’ve decided to make a difference. I’m in my office wear, on point to the brim, one hour and a half early, hair neatly made; I have a new pretty bag and I’m telling you if my boss doesn’t see the change in me today, I shall mourn… then I’ll go home and pray for him.
Today, I feel I’m owning this office, I feel I’m working, I feel brand new, I feel the perfect intern!!!
