Kare Hostel, according to word on the street is owned by the IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura. That is what kicks off our review today.
It is located about 80 metres off the Sir Apollo Kaggwa road and clearly within the heart of Kikoni (a Kawempe suburb).
It is set up with the latest finger print technology and that is just one of the many procedures they have ensured to curtail security threats.
Kare accommodates both male and female residents – but that doesn’t mean there are instances of room sharing by a dude and a babe. If you are a parent out there, don’t interpret it as that.
Your daughter will be safe at Kare. Don’t mind about the sons, you’re never worried about those anyway.
On top of regular transportation in and out of Campus all day through using their “unique” shuttles that are almost Mamba-Shaped, Kare residents have a classic Restaurant to cater for matters of the tummy.
Their welfare also stretches to Entertainment where every room in Kare is provided for with a DSTV connection for the love of soccer, music, news and soap operas.
And for a Hostel with such a fancy name, it is only natural that all the nice girls that are not ‘forced’ by parents to either go to hall or commute always end up in such a place because it is easier to communicate it to their men. The name is fancy because Makerere is diverse and you will meet places with names hard to pronounce. Places like Dag Hammarskjold Hall.
The prices at Kare range from about 600,000 UGX to about 1.2M UGX depending on the specifications on whether you want a single or double room. Or if you want a self-contained room.
