This week on MCM, I am profiling a future neurosurgeon. You don’t hear about that much neurosurgeons in Uganda so not all hope is lost. Universities are actually training future doctors to work on your future dysfunctional neuro-system when aging kicks in. It was so refreshing to meet someone that’s enthusiastic about his medicine and surgery course and the hope of being a neurosurgeon someday. Kitenda Francis is a student at KIU, Bushenyi campus with a focused path on what his career should be and thus takes his classes that much seriously.
Medicine students aren’t all work and no play. Francis likes to catch up on Hollywood’s latest series, fire up his Xbox and chat with friends on social media. His strongest personality is his ability to reflect on his past in his future decisions. Humans like the term, “what’s in the past stays in the past.” Francis doesn’t precisely side with the statement because how does one know they are making strides in their life if they don’t reflect on the person they were before? He’s also as confident as they come because he believes he is witty with an undeniable great sense of humor. Plus his an open book with frankness embedded into his personality.
When not operating on a lab rat, Francis manages his father’s apartments and that’s how he makes some extra cash. It’s safe to say that Francis is in love with the Rolls-Royce. It’s the only earthly possession he would take to his grave if coffins were made that big. Francis attributes the day he fell in love to be his most defining moment. It’s always good to know boys too get all mushy about love because love really does define us as humans. The capability of the bounds one takes with it, is what I mean.
Shockingly, Francis looks up to Jay-z as a role model. You would think some famous rich doctor gets his ambitious juices following but no, the the rap god does it for him. It’s all because Jay-Z has come up from grave life challenges to be one of the richest men on earth.
Just like law students imagine being Harvey Spector from Suits and business students being Don Draper of Mad Men, Francis envisions Derrick Shepard from Grey’s Anatomy to be his future self. I personally find movies to be a good inspiration for whatever career choice you want in life because they make it seem so damn easy.
Definitely rooting for this chap to make it as a neurosurgeon because I could bank in this article for free future consultation. Find Francis on Fb @ Kitenda Francis.
