Many people attach years and whatnot to when a person should set out to achieve something great, anything great unfortunately that traditional thinking is so outdated. In this age and era, anyone at any age can inspire or start up something, such is the case of the glowingly glamorous Nakitende Irene Kakonge.
Nakitende is a second year student of Social Work and Social Administration at Makerere University. The 19-year-old’s dream to own and publish a magazine is one she had quite early in life [From her Senior 4]- her path towards achieving her dream is not an easy one but unlike other people, she has strived on to the last bit, she is now the C.E.O of African Secrets Magazine.
Nakitende is a stylish girl, more reason as to why her magazine is so off the hook when it comes to African fashion and whatnot. She started in her senior 6 vacation when she launched her first edition of the African Secrets Magazine, the fourth edition was released early this month trust me, its beautiful!
Through her company, African Grasstop Secrets a publishing company, she has been able to publish work across the board including but not limited to the Miss Tourism Magazine 2015/16, and also publications for different Ministries.
Nakitende’s African Secrets Magazine mainly tackles the topics of tourism, culture, and lifestyle. “I wanted to impact the society,” she adds when talking about her choice to venture into culture and lifestyle.
She is also the host of the Exclusive Access show on K-TV [Uganda] that airs every Saturday, very ambitious and beautiful young lady. “You should never wait for the right time you are not to young to start,” she concluded as she gave advice to the young folks out there. Nakitende is a down to earth person whose goals and visions are towards waking the dying cultures of Africa.
