We are not trouble makers, and neither do we seek for trouble. It is like trouble always looks for us. Trouble just can’t stay away from us, campus students. Campusbee has taken some time off to compile the situations campus students try to avoid but fail to.
Unplanned babies
The Gospel of safe sex and contraceptives has been preached for ages in universities. The students themselves know it even better. But since the forbidden fruit is sweeter than advice, many campus students have engaged in unprotected sex more than scoring A’s in their exams.
Robberies
Even if it means sipping one bottle the entire night, a campus student cannot fail to go out on a Friday night. Despite being aware of the dangers like losing appliances and clothes to thieves, campus youngsters will club till 3am and watch the Gunners or the Blues into the most dangerous hours of the night – when the most notorious robbers in the city are most active.
Passing? Kizibu!
A student nurses a weekend hangover on Monday but wants to be listed on the Dean’s List at the end of the semester. Another goes to the library to download movies for six hours but still wants as many A’s as the comedies he or she has watched. Another will pay fellow student to do coursework, or even sit exams, and expect to earn a record GPA or a First Class.
‘Flushing’
Campus girls who do not want to get into the parents’ club always ‘flush’ (abort). Some reports have pointed at medicine and nursing students aiding the ‘victims’ to carry out these procedures. Indeed, some have died while others cannot give birth anymore. The double dealers are the worst hit. They want to taste the worldly ‘tree’ and the ‘tree of life” as Christian Union members.
100% poverty lane
Many university students dream of a life of success after school: six-figure salaries, rides, designer outfits, big house and wife or husband. You will be amazed by their dreams. But many come to terms with reality after school: no one gets anything for free; it’s a harsh world out there.
