MCM: Lukwago Henry, MUBS’ GRC with Bigger Aspirations

As the holidays come to an end and campus elections kick off, today being a Monday, the Bee crushed on Lukwago Henry.

Lukwago Henry is a second-year student at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship.

Lukwago is a prominent MUBS politician from the UYD party, currently serving as the off-campus GRC, and is an aspiring 28th Guild President.

Henry’s vision statement is: “To transform the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) student experience through inclusive, innovative, and accountable leadership.”

    • Improve study spaces, recreational facilities, and accessibility.
    • Organize regular events, workshops, and seminars to promote academic, personal, and professional growth.
  2. Academic Support and Advocacy:
    • Establish a robust academic support system, including mentorship programs, tutoring services, and academic advising.
    • Advocate for students’ rights and interests, particularly regarding academic policies, fees, and scholarships.
  3. Career Development and Employability:
    • Strengthen industry partnerships to provide internship, job, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
    • Develop and implement career guidance programs, including resume building, interview preparation, and professional networking.
  4. Financial Management and Transparency:
    • Ensure transparent and accountable management of Guild finances.
    • Explore alternative funding sources to support student initiatives and projects.
  5. Health, Wellness, and Safety:
    • Promote physical and mental well-being through health awareness campaigns, fitness programs, and counseling services.
    • Enhance campus safety and security measures, including emergency response systems and improved lighting.
