Today, we shine a light on the all-round sensation, Katumba Jonathan as a look up to gentleman. Apparently, technology is all he adores.
Katumba started Minute5 in 2019, with his partners and the goal was to get fresh affordable food delivered to consumers.
Minute5 offers a quick Express delivery option for groceries on the go and also have an option for customers to schedule their order. They offer both locally grown and non-locally grown foods on the market.
After school, he says he will keep upskilling to improve his knowledge base and he will also run Minute5 till they exit, either by IPO or acquisition, get a huge pay day and then develop other technologies in health, fitness, entertainment and smart living.
Like any other business owner, Katumba also faces some challenges;
1. Balancing school, work and social life: “This is a huge deal for me because I need to perform well in all these aspects and life is about what you and who you know. So, I need to balance my professional life but also build good social capital,” he says.
2. Access to affordable capital: “Since I’m a technologist, most of the new technologies I need to develop require massive sums of financial capital which is hard to find here, and if by any chance you find, its expensive. This is holding me back at how fast I can develop new ways to improve how we live life. I would love to improve peoples’ lives in terms of health and fitness, in how they listen to music and experience performing arts, in how they live life in a smart way and so much more.” Katumba added.
You can now download the minute5 on app store or play store and have your groceries delivered to your doorstep.
