He was my first roommate at University, & a loyal colleague & classmate over the last four years.
Yet Mazinga Abdul, a fourth year student of Journalism and Communication at Makerere University will not have the kind of climax to his undergraduate program he envisaged or like that of his colleagues.
Diagnosed with a tumor on his salivary gland months ago, Abdul was advised he needed an operation to treat it. Unfortunately, the Operation was Unsuccessful.
Now doctors at Mengo hospital have diagnosed him with Pleomorphic adenomas. Any food or liquid or even saliva he attempts to swallow drips through a hole created by the first operation.
The most common parotid tumor is a pleomorphic adenoma , also called a benign mixed tumor. Pleomorphic adenomas have been known to degenerate into cancers if they are neglected, hence the standard treatment for most parotid tumors is surgery.
Surgery at Mengo hospital will cost UGX 2.5M and doctors advise it should be done soon.

You may not know Abdul, but you don’t have to, to put a smile on his face. He is just one of the many faces faced with life-threatening illnesses, many of whom you may know or relate to. And like them, Abdul too needs your help. It could be a simple shilling, but combined, these could save a life and give Abdul, another shot at life. And when he gets better (in God’s name he will) we will all be proud that “WE SAVED A LIFE; LETS ACT NOW.”
To help Abdul, send Mobile Money to his number 0706074525 (registered in the names of Susan) or 0706067878 or 0771667878 (registered in the names of Senyonga Derrick – the chief fundraiser). Please include your name as the reason.
