Yesterday, 1600 law students aspiring to be councils sat for their Law Council Pre-entry exam at UMA show grounds Lugogo. Applicants for this exam should have successfully completed their degrees of Law from their respective Universities and wish to get a post graduate diploma to be able to practice law. The exam which takes a duration of four hours is known for its toughness and has over 80 percent of its applicants failing. Last year only 360 people passed out of the 1280 applicants. Unsuccessful candidates can re-sit the exam a year later.
Campus Bee spoke to Linda Wabudeya about her experience re-sitting the exam.
“We shall pass. This time it was tougher than last time but I can hope,” Wabudeya commented.
According to Amis Lukyamuzi, the Spokesperson of the Law Development Centre(LDC), the exam is not organized by LDC but rather the Uganda Law Council under the Ministry of Justice and its successful candidates thereby forwarded to LDC.
