Like an animal straight out of a horror movie, the grey creature lying lifeless strikes you, its tail the size of a large sized sisal rope lies curled around its body. A keen examination indicates it’s not a cat but a rat, a large house rat.
In addition to housing murderous rogues, vile tongued damsel and vicious bed bugs, the dogs Makerere university seems to have gone to must be nursing the final stages of rabies.
Earlier today morning, a monstrous rat the size of a full grown cat was discovered within the walls of Livingstone hall, one of the male halls of residence at Makerere.
It’s on record that seemingly smaller versions of the monster prowl the university after light outs.
The rat was cornered and beaten by unidentified students, left for dead. It succumbed to its injuries.
The grey furred creature was found dumped outside the Livingston gate. It bore marks of previous beatings which would indicate it had prowled the boys hall long enough.
One of the hall cleaners confirms she has seen seen a couple of similar sized rats. Including the darling rat of Mitchell hall that lives inside a cage and is fed by Mitchell hall students popularly known as Mitchell Rats.
The sight of the rat is testimony that in addition to brains, beauties and politeness, Makerere is teeming with battalions of bed bugs, colonies of bats and now an army of gigantic rats.
The rats are said to feed on the ill disposed food remains that litter Makerere university.
“Rats only come to homes that have food, rats can’t be guests to a household ravaged by famine and starvation.” remarked Kaziba Michael, a hall elder.
