Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) the makers of Nile Special, Club Beer and Castle Lite among several other beer brands have come out to stand with loyal customers during the COVID-19 lockdown.
After understanding the troubles Ugandans are going through to cope up with life without bars and happening places, the beer business giants have set up an e-commerce website (www.beernow.ug) that will make it easier for Ugandans aged 18 and over, to order and purchase beer brands online and have them delivered to a location of their choice.
At the moment, the service is only available to areas in and around Kampala and delivery will be made during the periods permitted according to the government guidelines on COVID-19. As of now, all deliveries can be made only until 2pm so your order has to delivered within that time period.
“It will however be rolled out to other areas of Uganda in due time.” NBL personnel said in a statement.
The few university students we have talked to, highlighted the steps taken to order the and have the beer delivered to their doorstep which they say is just under 60 minutes.
“Beer is delivered in utmost 60mins from the time the order is confirmed. There is a requirement however, in the process of ordering that seeks to confirm that one is of legal drinking age – above 18 years. A requirement I believe most if not all campusers meet.” Alex Odong of MUBS, who ordered a full crate of Nile Special yesterday, told Campus Bee.
Once you click on the website www.beernow.ug, you’ll be required to sign up with a phone number and password, a confirmation that you’re of drinking age and then you can start placing orders. The steps, as you’ll meet on the website are displayed here;
