Kyambogo University yesterday held its first graduation session of the 11th Congregation, in a ceremony presided over by the Chancellor of the Kyambogo-based institution, Prof. John Ssebuwufu. Students from the Graduate School, School of Management & Entrepreneurship as well as the Faculty of Special Needs & Rehabilitation were the first batch of graduands that were awarded Post-Graduate Degrees, Post-Graduate Diplomas, Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.
A number of students managed to scoop first class honours in the various disciplines and the most notable of these was Muwonge Vincent, a student from the School of Management and Entrepreneurship who was presented with a Certificate of Recognition as well as Ush.4,000,000/= by the ACCA for his outstanding performance after graduating with a First Class Honours.
Among other Graduands with First Class Honours was Nsibambi Vincent in Bachelor of Business Studied with Education; Arinda Joyce in Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management, Otim Samuel in Post Graduate Diploma in Teacher Education, Nakiyaga Harriet in Bachelor of Business Studies, Apio Sarah in Diploma in Special Needs Education and others. A total of 211 will graduate with first class honours out of the 7200 graduands.
The Uganda Prisons Band entertained the graduands and other attendees at the ceremony.
Prof Ssebuwuffu capped off the 1st session with special thanks to the Prisons Band, the Ambassodor of Burundi as well as other notables for attending the function and he wished good luck to the graduands.
